Dr. Lavi’s Tip of the Week:

Write your Dream Legacy. This is your legacy to your family, friends, community, and the world.  Imagine a celebration in your honor being held at the end of your life.  You can have as many lifetime legacy dreams as you like.  It may help to think of the accomplishments in various categories: personal, spiritual, marital, family, social, community, vocational, hobbies, volunteer, educational and financial to name just a few to choose from.

Allow yourself to dream big, and don’t let your ‘inner critic’ eliminate any dream accomplishments, large or small.

Inspirational Story:  100-Year-Old Runner Proves It Is Never Too Late To Start A Dream Legacy
fauja-singh2     fauja-singh1
The Indian-Born British citizen Fauja Singh earned his way into The Guinness Book of World Records by completing the Toronto Marathon at age 100.  Although running 26 miles may seem like a daunting dream that would take a life-time of training to accomplish, Fauja didn’t even start running until he was 80-years-old!  He started slow and then worked his way up to running 10-miles per day in order to reach his dream of running a marathon by age 100.
He may not have been the first person across the finish line, but he wasn’t the last either.  Friends, family, and other supporters cheered him at the finish line after 8 hours and 11 minutes.
Today, at age 101, he has decided to retire from running.  Still, I have a feeling that even though his dream of running a marathon has been accomplished, he is never going to retire from chasing other dreams.

Questions for YOU:
What mark do you wish to leave behind for generations to come?
In your wildest dreams, what do you hope to have accomplished?
What do you hope others will say about you and your accomplishments?

“Life is tough. It presents challenges all of the time. My first scary challenge that knocked me down was when I got Multiple Sclerosis in 1993. After addressing the physiological portion, many fears and irrational behavior developed. Because of Dr. Lavi, and my time as her patient, I was able to get back on track and enjoy my life despite knowing I would have MS the rest of my life and would need to work hard to manage and control it.

What Dr. Lavi didn’t know until now, is that she helped me again, when I faced stage-3 cancer years later. Her guidance and effective dream-planning ideas stayed with me all these years and helped me again through an even more frightening time of horrific cancer treatments. I would l not be who I am today without her help and guidance.” L.D. (former patient)

“I still pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming.” Jody (not her real name)
